It’s been a hundred forevers ago when I last saw my natural hair colour. For the most part, I consider my hair colour to be part of my overall look and personality. Because of my back to back trips under the sun, I realized that my deep auburn hair has gone really light and farrrr from its supposed colour. Case point:

Thanks to L’Oreal, I got a sample from their latest care and colour range, Excellence Fashion by L’Oréal Paris. There are 6 vibrant yet flattering auburns, nude browns, and intense brown shades available -- Intense Violet Brown, Ashy Nude Brown, Intense Copper Brown, Golden Nude Brown, Intense Lustrous Auburn, and Intense Golden Auburn. I thought it’ a stroke of luck for me to get a colour so "me": Intense Violet Brown. I thought going dark for a little while will help me conceal frizz and dryness before my next major colour.

It only took me 10 minutes to prep my hair for colour. I put on the gloves then applied the protective pre-color serum (gold tube) before mixing the protective creme colorant (black tube) with the cream developer (big bottle). I have short hair so applying it was a breeze. After leaving it on for 30 minutes, I rinsed the colour and its residue before applying the protective conditioner and leaving it on for another 3 minutes. Coming from a medium ash blonde shade, the colour I got was not violet at all outdoors but was indoors. For future DIY sessions, I might go Ashy Nude Brown or Golden Nude Brown. :)
