The ladies and I had a nice wine and cheese (and paella and much, much more) sesh last Wednesday with the Make Up For Ever Tribe and they let us get a sneak peek of their holiday lip and face essentials. Ready for the quick low down? :)
Big, bold lips is still in this season and it's so comforting to know that we have options apart from ultra matte and nude lips!
top to bottom
Artist Acrylip Liquid Stain
Artist Lip Balm Lip Shine
Artist Lip Blush
Of the three, I was most excited about the Artist Acrylip Liquid Stain (Php 1450) because as you may have noticed, I'm a big liquid lipstick fan. It's also the shiniest and most pigmented of the three. I tried it on before dinner and I've wiped my lips over and over to still find a faint stain at the end of the meal. It feels pleasant on the lips and is a very nice break from most drying ultra matte formulas. The Artist Lip Balm Lip Shine (Php 1450) is a 3-in-1 product that's "comfortable as a balm, with the colour intensity of a lipstick and shiny as a gloss". I tried this too and it does live up to its promise. The colour does pack a punch and is very convenient to swipe on and let be throughout the day. If you're into demi-matte and velvet-like finish, you should try the Lip Blush (Php 1450). I like how it livens up the face in a couple of swipes.
Feeling artistic? Check out the limited edition Artistic Lip Ink and Brush Set (Php 2420). Nikki tried this and we're super wowed by it! It's true red (a hue that's hand-picked for the holidays by internationally famous, transgendered model, Andreja Pejic), very bold in payoff, and dries off matte. The bonus: the exclusive (and totally reusable over the years) Pinceau brush perfectly draws extra precisely and perfectly.
Strobing is still winging it versus contouring and these Pro Light Fusion Highlighters (Php 2350) are so fetch! They're SO GOOD and in demand; so much that even in the US, it's always out of stock in Sephora (both in store and online -- can you believe it!?). These highlighters are so mighty fine and totally buildable. We tested it by putting it all over our face (it was too pretty on our cheeks, we just had to do it!) and we actually got away with it! The one of the left is Golden (Martha, who's wearing a nice tan from Australia, totally rocked it!) and the one on the right is Golden Pink (best for those with fair to medium skin tones).
All these beauty candies are locally available so check them out at the Make Up For Ever stores in SM Megamall Fashion Hall, Greenbelt 3, Trinoma, and SM Mall of Asia.
