Confession: I don't enjoy reviewing or writing about anything breakout related. I guess it stems from the fact that almost 34, I can't get my head around the thought that I'm still nursing pimples every so often. Still, if I want to keep myself from going to my dermatologist for another acne surgery (!!!), I have to give my skin that extra cleansing and healing without compromising moisture and texture.
That said, you can tell that when Althea Korea announced a box curated to keep pimples at bay, I fumbled to throw it into my cart. It cost me Php 1440 and looking at the roster of products, I thought I got a bargain!
I ordered my box last May 9 and got it in pristine condition ~15 days after. They had an ongoing promo that time where every purchase qualifies for a free Aritaum Ginger Sugar Lip Scrub (Php 460). I didn't need it at that time but it was free so yes, I carted that in as well. :)
The Trouble Breaker Box is comprised of 6 products (arranged below in the order of how I use them):
- The SAEM Healing Tea Garden Tea Tree Cleansing Water (Php 420)
- Keywis Icy White Cooling Massager (Php 1200)
- Swanicoco AC Care Skin Toner (Php 1500)
- Innisfree Jeju Bija Trouble Lotion (Php 780)
- Aromatica Tea Tree 53 Blemish Spot (Php 750)
- Missha Anti Trouble Patch
After washing my face with water and a cream cleanser, I start my "Trouble Breaker routine" by running a cotton pad soaked in The SAEM Healing Tea Garden Tea Tree Cleansing Water over my skin (except the eye area) to double cleanse. I like closing my pores with ice making Keywis Icy White Cooling Massager a mess-free option. Toning is essential and I like the soothing sensation I get from Swanicoco AC Care Skin Toner.
I'm still on the fence slathering Innisfree Jeju Bija Trouble Lotion all over my face so I just put it on my cheeks and forehead where I tend to always breakout. If and when I get nasty red numbers, I dab a drop (or two if I'm about to go to bed) of Aromatica Tea Tree 53 Blemish Spot on the affected area. The pimple miraculously dies down (painful and redness begone!) esp. when I put a transparent (as you could barely see it below) Missha Anti Trouble Patch over it.
As for the Aritaum Ginger Sugar Lip Scrub, oddly, when I received the box, I couldn't find my usual weekly lip scrub. I reached for it with not much hopes (sad, I know!). It smelled like faint, sweet ginger. It's not as sloughing as my favourite lip scrub and I thought, what the heck. After wiping my lips free from the product though, oh my gosh. My lips felt totally brand new. Very moisturizing and left my kissers plump and smooth. Definitely recommending this product that's slowly reaching HG status in my books.
